The Guardian and the New Statesmen both with articles on the government’s attempts to move the goalposts on child poverty, rather than actually bothering to do anything about it.

I don’t know if there’s a definitive measure by which a government can be said to be ‘succeeding’ or ‘failing’ in its role, but when child poverty is increasing; you are doing something wrong. Of that, there can be no doubt.

Hence why I agree with Richard Murphy’s assessment of George Osbourne.

But at least there is some good news in the world.
